Other updates within BYOC Co:

We have made the difficult decision to no longer host TerraCycle drop-off boxes. Due to the unknown nature of exactly where and how these items are being recycled, we’d like to avoid potential “wish-cycling” and greenwashing. Until more research and transparency comes out, we encourage you to continue to reduce using hard to recycle products, participate in swaps with friends if they aren’t working for you, and continue supporting your local refillery.

We hope to see you at our upcoming EcoFlo pop-up at BYOC Co. (Ann Arbor location) on June 15th from 12pm-2pm. EcoFlo is a start-up business with the mission to raise awareness and usage of eco-friendly alternatives, such as period underwear, to disposable menstrual products. For each pair sold, EcoFlo donates a pair to one of our partner organizations, Pad the Mitten based at Michigan State University and The Detroit Period Project based at Wayne State University. These organizations distribute EcoFlo period underwear to women's shelters and students within Greater Lansing and Detroit. Within our first seven months of selling, EcoFlo has donated 105 pairs of period underwear to menstruators in need!

The A2ZERO Week Passport is an event that runs from June 8-15th in which participating local businesses are represented on a “Passport” as a sort of scavenger hunt. Residents who wish to participate will be able to pick up their passports from the Ann Arbor District Library (the distribution site) and find their way to all locations listed, receiving a stamp for each one they visit. Finally, at the end of A2ZERO Week, they will hold a raffle for all of those who filled out their passports and offer prizes, many of which are donated by the participating vendors.

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of fowling and community support as we raise funds for SCRAP! Fowling, a unique blend of football and bowling, promises a fun experience for participants of all ages and skill levels. Gather your friends, family, and colleagues for an afternoon packed with entertainment, friendly competition, and most importantly, a chance to support reuse, creativity, and community. Local teams will be participating in the Fowlanthropy Event on Sunday, June 9 from 3pm-5pm.Funds raised this year will be used to divert useable materials, develop youth education programs, and increase accessibility to creativity.

What to expect: - 2 hours of Fowling and friendly competition.- Chances to win local prizes | From gift baskets and vouchers to local businesses to SCRAP prizes. There will be something for everyone! - Refreshments from local restaurants. - Beverages available for purchase inside The Fowling Warehouse- Community spirit! Connect with other like-minded locals seeking to support our community's only creative reuse center!
