Thank you to all who filled out the recent survey! It was enlightening to know the barriers to accessing the new Ann Arbor store location and thoughts about delivery and subscription services.

Plymouth: Although there will be no major changes to the Plymouth store yet, follow us on socials and keep reading our newsletters to stay informed.

Ann Arbor: As for the challenges that come with the move out of downtown Ann Arbor, I hear you!! Although we see many pros to the new space, there will always be cons. Unfortunately as a small business who doesn't own their own land, we have to operate under the systems that are within our geographic region. There are huge exciting developments happening within Ann Arbor, and that means STEEP costs to our traditional downtown area. I wanted to see BYOC Co. survive in Ann Arbor and within a limited timeframe, I worked within the systems we are at the helm to. The way I see it is that the downtown area will continue to evolve and expand and that will create pocket walkable communities. We definitely have that already, but hopefully small businesses will be able to survive within this expansion and possibly continue to expand to each of these walkable community areas. Maybe that's optimistic but who knows! I am committed to trying to keep this refill station accessible and am diligently working to find the next great partnership within downtown and other areas in Washtenaw County. And, other ideas to keep drawing you to BYOC Co. and making it even more of a destination spot. Stay tuned as always!

Now for the discounts: If you walk, bike, bus, or carpool to BYOC Ann Arbor, receive $5 off your order! Each carpooler must make a purchase and will each receive the discount; can also be combined with your loyalty reward discounts.

Bussing: From the Transit Center, take bus 30 or 23 for a straight route to the Zeeb/Jackson intersection then a 5 minute walk to the store.

Short story time...When I was a customer of BYOC, I wrangled a co-worker at Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels to come with me for a "refill day". I literally loved talking about BYOC and anything for a conducive sustainable lifestyle. So, we used to spend each Sunday carpooling from Ypsilanti to hit up By the Pound and BYOC (shout out to the free parking Sundays) and not only was it a great way to expose and expand our refill community, we were able to catch up on the week while doing our errands!

This will be a fun environment with happy hour vibes. You will learn the skill of bundle dyeing a silk scarf, get a private shopping experience at BYOC Co Ann Arbor, and a chance to meet people who share the common interest of sustainability and valuing the environment. Beverages and snacks provided!

Bring in products for your hair and/or skin that no longer serve you or just didn't jive with you in the first place! Drop off items to the Ann Arbor BYOC Co. during open hours starting on Jan 28. On Feb 2, join us for coffee and tea, find free products that you may have been looking for, or bring some you can pass on. Take as many products as you'd like, the rest will be donated or recycled through ERG. Come meet and chat with Hannah, from www.salonvironment.com!

Since we are dealing with sensitive body areas we do have some guidelines for acceptable products:

Products should be more than halfway full. If opened, products must be under a year old. If unopened, product can be up to 2 years old. Limit of bringing 5 items starting Jan 28, leave with as many as you'd like on Feb 2!
